The Peace Baby!

Everyone's had a peace bottle or a peace joint, something you pass around for everyone to share. In this case, Layla's been the Peace Baby, giving a lot to ooh and aah about as people take turns in carrying her in their arms. She's met so many important people in her first month that even before being baptized, she has become a baby social butterfly.

She's already been to her first party in the Ortega house in Santol where she finally met her eldest sister Paige. Paige was on a field trip and was flying back to Cebu the next day, so we took a chance and brought Layla to Quezon City to meet her and the rest of the Ortegas.

The one person she misses, though, is her Poppy. He's been out of town for work since Monday and I think she's been looking for him. She sleeps late when Jay comes home late from a gig, but when he left, she was up from 6pmto 2am the next day! Wild. I had no rest, and neither did she. I think it was new for her to be burped on my shoulder without Jay by her side kissing her and rubbing his nose on hers.

Don't worry, dearest. Poppy will be home this afternoon. You'll see. :)

i remember my first day of school and i was so excited and i was wondering why the other kids cried when their parents left. i figured it meant that they "loved" them. so the next day i cried when my mom was leaving. i explained things to her and she just laugh. sus, i didn't have to cry pala. haha!

my sis-in-law is asking where did you buy your breast pump. she left her pump handle in the US and so she's looking for another one here in the Philippines.

oy clems! or should i start calling you jill? di ako sanay eh. :)

i use an AVENT Isis pump (avent.com) and jay bought it for me on sale in Rustan's alabang. they have pa, but i don't know if they sell parts only, like the handle. you can order it online, although i think it's for delivery in the US only. there's a La Leche League here in Manila that sells parts but i don't have their number right now. they're based in greenhills and they have discounted products for breastfeeding.

hello, char! as i mentioned above, i use an AVENT Isis breast pump and jay bought it on sale for about Php3,500 or something like that. the retail price is over P4,000. it's available in rustan's and maxi bear. the Mendela pumps look nice, too, but i opted for Avent since it fits into all Avent bottles and we received Avent bottles for the baby shower.

also, i opted for a manual pump. it's cheaper, i have more control over the pressure, AND i get to exercise my arms. hehe :)
